Tucheng Chang Gung Architectural Signage | Front-Lit Letters with Coated Stainless-Steel Frames
Selected Works
Professional Healthcare Image × Refined Dimensional Craft
CHYIHAUR delivered the architectural signage for Tucheng Chang Gung, crafting front-lit illuminated letters with baked-paint stainless-steel frames. Multi-layer cross-braced diffuser panels paired with 3M translucent film and Japanese Nichia LEDs, with faces finished in fluorocarbon (PVDF) coating for weather and corrosion resistance. Completed in 45 days, with a three-year warranty on both LEDs and fabrication.

The architectural signage of a medical institution carries the first measure of trust that the public reads from far away. Tucheng Chang Gung's exterior frame-letter sign had to hold precise proportion at building scale, stay dignified by day and legible by night, and withstand years of sun and weather. CHYIHAUR built this healthcare brand's facade identity with enterprise architectural-grade methods and materials.
An assuring identity, visible from afar
Project Background & Challenge
Tucheng Chang Gung is a large medical-institution building, and its exterior frame-letter sign had to satisfy two demands at once: identity across distance and long-term weather resistance. Letter proportions had to be planned precisely to the building's scale, clear from afar and refined up close, while the materials and coating had to endure years of outdoor exposure and preserve the dignified image a healthcare brand deserves. That was the core challenge of planning and fabricating this project.
Proportion that works unlit
A hospital mark spends most of the day not glowing, so proportion and depth have to hold up in plain daylight first. Letter size was worked back from the scale of the building, and the painted stainless-steel frames give each stroke real depth, so sunlight leaves a shadow along the edges. A fluorocarbon coating keeps the colour from fading grey after years of sun and rain.
Design Goals & Strategy
We planned the entire project around "on time, on quality, built to last." The main letters are front-lit illuminated letters with baked-paint stainless-steel frames; the faces use multi-layer cross-braced diffuser panels paired with 3M translucent film, so large letters glow evenly without blotching; the light source is Japanese Nichia LEDs, balancing brightness and lifespan; and the letter faces are finished with fluorocarbon (PVDF) coating to strengthen weather and corrosion resistance, meeting the standards of long-term use on a medical building.
Even glow across large letters
On letters this large, the risk is that each lamp position shows up as bright and dark patches. A multi-layer star-pattern panel plus 3M translucent film spreads the light, and the Nichia LEDs are set up as front lighting, so even at this distance the glow reads as one continuous run with no lamp spacing visible.

Position as a variable
Position, like proportion and depth, is a value worked back from the scale of the building during design; the facade hoisting only carries it out accurately, it is not decided once the crew is on site.

Project Outcome
The architectural signage for Tucheng Chang Gung was completed on schedule within 45 days, with 100% design fidelity. By day it integrates into the building facade with precise proportion; by night the Nichia LEDs light it evenly, with no dark spots or blotching, accentuating the dignified quality of the medical building. The fluorocarbon coating keeps the signage in pristine condition for years, and with a separate three-year warranty on the LEDs and the fabrication, ongoing maintenance rests on solid ground.

FAQ
This is an enterprise architectural-signage project CHYIHAUR delivered for Tucheng Chang Gung, with the scope covering the exterior frame-letter sign. The work uses front-lit illuminated letters with baked-paint stainless-steel frames paired with Japanese Nichia LEDs, completed on schedule within 45 days.
The main signage at Tucheng Chang Gung consists of front-lit illuminated letters with baked-paint stainless-steel frames; the faces use multi-layer cross-braced diffuser panels paired with 3M translucent film, and the light source is Japanese Nichia LEDs in a front-lit configuration. The multi-layered materials let the large letters transmit light evenly with a solid structure.
Fluorocarbon (PVDF) coating is the surface protective treatment CHYIHAUR chose for the Tucheng Chang Gung signage in this project, offering outstanding weather and corrosion resistance. Signage on a medical building must face years of sun and rain, and fluorocarbon coating keeps the color and surface stable over the long term.
Signage for a medical building prizes above all identity that stays clear at any distance and a dignified brand image. CHYIHAUR tailored the letter proportions and depth to the building's scale and presented them with even nighttime lighting, so the signage is striking from afar, refined up close, and integrated into the architecture as a whole.
The construction cycle for the Tucheng Chang Gung architectural signage project was 45 days, completed on time and to quality with 100% design fidelity; upon completion, a three-year warranty is provided on the LEDs and a three-year warranty on the fabrication.
