Project Planning & Execution

CHYIHAUR Team

Making signage for an interior design firm is an exam in detail — the client's own profession is spatial aesthetics, so the proportions, material feel, and edge finishing of a storefront never escape a trained eye. Kuirui Space Interior Design commissioned CHYIHAUR to execute its outdoor and indoor signage engineering, turning the storefront into the first work visitors see before entering the office.

01

Project Background & Challenges

Kuirui Space Interior Design specializes in spatial planning, with a sensitivity to visual proportion and detail far above that of a typical client. This project called for handling both outdoor and indoor signage at once: the exterior had to communicate the brand clearly from the street, while the interior had to blend with the design language of the office space. Every proportion, edge finish, and installation detail of the signage had to withstand the scrutiny of design professionals — the greatest challenge of this project.

A three-dimensional metal X letter mounted on a white exterior wall, its edges glowing violet-blue; a black-framed glass window on the left reflects buildings across the street, with an agave and cacti standing in the foreground.

Volume control on the facade

The client designs spaces for a living, so the entrance could not be louder than the building it sits on. The wall is kept white and the face of the letter is kept dark rather than bright, so by day it reads from the street on form and contrast alone. The light is held behind the letter and reaches the wall only as a halo. Between street legibility and facade harmony, this outdoor sign takes half a step back.

Design Goals & Strategy

We approached this project as a collaboration with a design firm: building on the brand identity, we let the outdoor and indoor signage share one consistent visual language. The exterior focused on street-level recognition and facade harmony, while the interior focused on merging with the ambiance of the space. Through fabrication and installation, we controlled every detail to a high standard, so the refinement of the finished work would echo the client's own professional image.

The same light as the office

Indoors the same set of letters stops emitting light. The illumination in the reception area comes from the ceiling downlights, and the letter face only has to receive it, so the shading shifts as people move past. That is what it means for an interior sign to merge with the language of the space: the brand is visible, but it is not the light source.

A designer's inspection distance

The hard part is the corner where the two strokes meet. The gap is kept to one width all the way along the stroke, so the backlight traces a single ring instead of pooling at the corner.

Project Outcome

On completion, Kuirui Space Interior Design's outdoor and indoor signage speaks one consistent visual language: the street facade conveys the brand clearly, the interior identity blends naturally with the ambiance of the space, and the details and edge finishes hold up to close inspection. The storefront became clients' first concrete impression of the firm's professionalism — and proof of CHYIHAUR's execution quality on projects with demanding clients.

FAQ

This is an outdoor and indoor signage engineering case that CHYIHAUR executed for Kuirui Space Interior Design. The project let the outdoor and indoor identities share one consistent visual language, completed to a high standard from design and fabrication through to installation.

CHYIHAUR's takeaway from the Kuirui Space Interior Design project: clients who are design professionals demand more of proportion, detail, and edge finishing, and the signage itself must reach the completeness of a finished work. Projects like this best test a signage team's fabrication and installation quality.

In the Kuirui project, CHYIHAUR planned the outdoor and indoor signage together, letting both share one consistent brand visual language. Planning them together ensures the identity carries from the street through to the interior for a coherent overall image, and lets the fabrication and installation schedules be integrated.

In the Kuirui Space Interior Design project, CHYIHAUR handled the full process of outdoor signage design, indoor signage planning, fabrication, and on-site installation. With a single team executing from design to construction, detail quality stays consistent from start to finish.
