A reassuring landmark, recognized at a glance from the corner

CHYIHAUR crafted a vertical outdoor blade sign for Ho Xing Dental: 1.6mm SECC galvanized metal formed and finished with automotive paint, paired with a clear hollow face panel and front-lit Japanese Nichia LEDs so the clinic's identity reads clearly along the street. Completed in 12 days, with a three-year warranty on both the lighting and the fabrication.

Project Planning & Execution

CHYIHAUR Team

For a street-side clinic, the blade sign is the key to being seen. As pedestrians walk along the arcade, the first thing to catch their eye is not the frontal signage but that single sign standing perpendicular to the wall. For Ho Xing Dental's vertical outdoor blade sign, CHYIHAUR controlled every step from sheet metal and paint to light source, keeping the clinic's identity clear, reassuring and weatherproof by day and by night.

Project Background & Challenge

Located on a street front, Ho Xing Dental needed a vertical outdoor blade sign that could be clearly seen along the flow of foot traffic. A blade sign is cantilevered off the exterior wall year-round, taking sun and rain head-on, so the weather resistance of the metal and coating decides how long it stays beautiful. As the identity of a medical clinic, its color and brightness had to be eye-catching yet never harsh, upholding a professional, reassuring image.

A tall illuminated light box cantilevered from a stone-clad wall on a bronze-toned arm; warm white light glows through the ribbed translucent panel behind vertical black Chinese and English lettering, seen from below in daylight.

Weather Resistance, Panel First

A projecting sign hangs off the wall for years with sun and rain hitting it head-on, so the substrate was settled first: 1.6mm SECC galvanised steel, formed to shape. The zinc layer is rust protection built into the sheet, and over it an automotive paint finish keeps the colour saturated outdoors. The round-tube arms are bolted into the granite wall face, with structural safety as the premise.

Design Goals & Strategy

The sign body is formed from 1.6mm SECC galvanized metal; the galvanized layer provides a built-in rust-resistant base, then an automotive paint finish gives it saturated color and lasting weather resistance. The face uses a clear hollow panel, and the light source is front-lit Japanese Nichia LEDs, so the lettering glows evenly and stays sharply legible at night. From structure to lighting, everything was planned around long-term durability to reduce the clinic's future maintenance burden.

The full vertical side-mounted sign, its round tube bracket bolted to a flat light-grey stone-clad wall; the panel glows warm white with the clinic name in Chinese running top to bottom above a phone number, another tiled building standing behind.

Read on the Move

A street-side clinic has to be read while people are still moving, so the layout was planned from the street's viewing angle: clinic name, English name and phone number stack down a single vertical panel, letting passers-by take in the whole message from a distance instead of only up close.

Bright Without Glare

A clear twin-wall panel paired with front-lit Nichia LEDs: the light spreads inside the panel first and only then passes through, so brightness stays consistent across the whole face.

Project Outcome

The finished Ho Xing Dental blade sign reads clearly along the street by day in its saturated painted color, and at night it is evenly lit by the Nichia LEDs, letting pedestrians recognize the clinic's location from afar, with 100% design fidelity. The whole project was completed within 12 days, with a three-year warranty on both the lighting and the fabrication, keeping the clinic's identity at its best over the long term.

FAQ

This is a vertical outdoor blade sign case that CHYIHAUR carried out for Ho Xing Dental in 2023. The blade sign is formed from 1.6mm SECC galvanized metal with an automotive paint finish, paired with a clear hollow face panel and front-lit Japanese Nichia LEDs, completed in 12 days.

A vertical blade sign is a long sign cantilevered perpendicular to a building's exterior wall, and it is the easiest thing for pedestrians to spot first as they walk along the street. For a street-side clinic, a blade sign builds recognition early along the flow of foot traffic. Ho Xing Dental uses exactly this kind of sign to let people find the clinic's location from afar.

The blade sign is formed from 1.6mm SECC galvanized metal with an automotive paint finish on the surface; the face is a clear hollow panel, and the light source is front-lit Japanese Nichia LEDs, balancing weather resistance with nighttime legibility.

Nichia is a well-known Japanese LED brand with even light output and a long lifespan, and it is CHYIHAUR's frequent choice of light source for signage projects where long-term quality matters. Paired with front lighting and a clear hollow face panel, the blade sign stays clear and eye-catching at night, without dark spots.

This project had a 12-day build period and 100% design fidelity; after completion it comes with a three-year warranty on the lighting and a three-year warranty on the fabrication.
