Above the Curved Wall, Just the Right Metallic Sheen
CHYIHAUR crafted indoor 3D signage lettering for Taiwan Addington, pairing mirror-finish stainless steel dimensional letters with painted acrylic letters, and finishing the metal letters in an antique-coffee titanium plating. Facing a curved reception counter wall, we fixed the letters with welded round-bar stand-off feet so the logo hugs the arc perfectly, completed in 12 days.

Indoor 3D signage lettering is a brand's first line of introduction within a space. Taiwan Addington's reception counter is a curved wall, where flat metal letters cannot simply be mounted flush. CHYIHAUR paired antique-coffee titanium-plated mirror stainless steel letters with painted acrylic letters, using welded round bars to lift the letters off the wall so they stand firm and elegant along the curve.

Project Background & Challenge
Taiwan Addington's indoor identity centers on the brand's dimensional lettering behind the reception counter, demanding high quality with little margin for error. The greatest challenge was the counter's curved wall: mounted with a standard flat method, dimensional metal letters would leave gaps that drift closer and farther from the wall, with visual skew that also compromised structural stability. A fixing solution had to be devised around the logo's form.
Choosing to stay unlit
The reception hall already has globe pendants and a circular lit ceiling, so a sign carrying its own light source would only interfere with the ambient light — the whole set of letters was specified unlit. Contrast is carried instead by the tonal gap between the titanium-plated metal and the painted acrylic, lifting the letterforms off the timber wall so the name reads the moment you walk in, rather than by being brighter.

Design Goals & Strategy
For materials, we paired mirror-finish stainless steel dimensional letters with painted acrylic letters, with the metal letters titanium-plated to an antique-coffee tone so the composed metallic hue set off the brand's texture; the lighting was configured as unlit, avoiding any light that would disturb the interior ambiance. For installation, we addressed the curved wall by welding round bars to the back of the titanium-plated metal letters, fixing them as stand-off feet lifted off the wall. Each foot's length matches the depth of the arc, keeping the entire set at a consistent visual distance along the curve.
Standoffs on a curved wall
The counter wall is curved, so letters fixed the way they would be on a flat wall leave a gap that keeps closing and opening. Each round rod welded to the back is therefore matched to the depth of the curve at that point, and the lengths are not the same — only then does the whole set hold one distance from the wall along the curve.
