CIRCLE STUDIO Indoor Suspended Sign | Folded Stainless-Steel Craftsmanship Case
Selected Works
A suspended circle that defines the heart of the space
CHYIHAUR crafted an indoor suspended sign for CIRCLE STUDIO, folded from 1mm painted stainless steel to a 15cm depth, hung from the ceiling by a welded 30mm-diameter round tube. The unlit design floats lightly within the space, completed in 7 days with a one-year workmanship warranty.

Project Planning & Execution
CHYIHAUR Team
CIRCLE STUDIO's identity doesn't hang on a wall — it floats within the space. CHYIHAUR folded 1mm painted stainless steel into a three-dimensional sign 15cm deep, suspended from the ceiling by a welded 30mm-diameter round tube, so the sign hovers at the center of sight like a weightless installation. From any approach, the brand is the first thing you see.
Project Background & Challenges
CIRCLE STUDIO wanted its identity to become part of the space rather than an accessory to the wall, so it chose the form of an indoor suspended sign. The challenge of a suspended sign lies in balancing structure and visual weight: the sign needs enough three-dimensional depth to command presence, yet its weight must be kept in check, the suspension structure must be safe and stable, and the whole must still read as light rather than cumbersome.

Hung, Not Wall-Mounted
A sign fixed to a wall always reads as an accessory to that wall; hung from the ceiling, it becomes part of the space itself. The catch is weight — presence needs depth, and depth usually means mass. Folding 1mm stainless steel to a 15cm depth keeps the volume without the load, and a 30mm tube welded on top fixes straight into the ceiling: a clean line that still holds.
Design Goals & Strategy
We used 1mm painted stainless steel as the primary material, folding it into a 15cm depth through folding craftsmanship — folding a thin sheet gives the sign a solid three-dimensional mass while keeping it lightweight, the ideal solution for a suspended form. A welded 30mm-diameter round tube at the top serves as the suspension structure, fixed directly to the ceiling for clean, crisp lines. The whole piece is left unlit, letting the pure color of the painted surface blend into the tone of the space.

How the Colour Was Chosen
The baked-paint colour was not picked because it looked good on its own — it was matched to the tone the room already had, so the identity settles into the space instead of overriding it. The whole project is unlit: there is no light source built into the sign, and its presence is carried by colour and form alone.

How the Corner Is Formed
The corner is folded, not welded up from two pieces — face and side are one and the same sheet of steel, so there was never a seam to begin with.

Project Outcome
The completed CIRCLE STUDIO sign floats beneath the ceiling at a 15cm folded depth — dimensional in mass yet light to the eye, with a clean, crisp round-tube suspension and 100% fidelity to the design. The sign becomes a natural visual focal point within the space, with the entire project completed in just 7 days.

FAQ
This is an indoor suspended sign project CHYIHAUR carried out for CIRCLE STUDIO, folded from 1mm painted stainless steel to a 15cm depth, hung from the ceiling by a welded 30mm-diameter round tube. The whole piece is an unlit design, completed in 7 days.
The sign is folded to shape from a thin 1mm stainless-steel sheet into a three-dimensional 15cm depth, with a painted surface finish; a welded 30mm-diameter round tube at the top serves as the suspension structure, fixed to the ceiling.
Stainless-steel folding is a technique of bending thin sheet into a three-dimensional mass — folding a 1mm sheet to a 15cm depth makes the sign look substantial while staying very light in actual weight. For a suspended sign hung from the ceiling, keeping the weight down reduces the load on the structure while retaining a solid three-dimensional presence.
A suspended sign hangs from the ceiling, floating within the space and visible from many angles — ideal for brands that want their identity to be the focal point of a space; a wall-mounted sign, by contrast, is fixed to a wall with a relatively single viewing angle. CIRCLE STUDIO used the suspended form to make its sign the visual center of the space.
The CIRCLE STUDIO suspended sign had a 7-day construction cycle and 100% fidelity to the design; a one-year warranty on the fabricated piece is provided upon completion.
If you are planning an indoor suspended sign, a folded stainless-steel piece, or a spatial identity project, you are welcome to reach out to CHYIHAUR through the "Contact Us" page on the official website. The team will provide structural and fabrication recommendations and a quotation based on your ceiling and spatial conditions.
